Factory Signal is an informational manufacturing publication. This page explains the practical data practices we use for the site, including advertising and lightweight analytics. It is not legal advice.

Information we collect directly

Factory Signal does not currently provide user accounts, comments, purchases, or public forms. If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include so we can respond.

Site analytics

We use privacy-friendly, first-party analytics to understand which pages are useful. The site analytics payload is limited to page path, page title, click label or destination, timestamp, day, and hour. Factory Signal's analytics are not designed to store raw IP addresses, user agents, visitor IDs, or cross-site profiles.

Hosting, security, and infrastructure providers may still process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser/device information, referring page, and requested URL to operate and protect the site.

Google AdSense and advertising

Factory Signal displays ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device identifiers, browser information, location signals, and similar technologies to deliver, limit, measure, and improve ads.

Ads may be personalized based on your activity and settings, or non-personalized based on contextual information such as the page you are viewing and your general location. Google explains how it uses data from sites and apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

You can review or change Google ad personalization settings at adssettings.google.com. Your browser, device, and applicable regional tools may also provide ways to limit cookies, reset advertising identifiers, or opt out of certain interest-based advertising.

Cookies and similar technologies

Google AdSense and other third-party services may place cookies or use similar technologies when ads load. Factory Signal's first-party analytics are intentionally limited and do not require an account login. Browser storage or technical identifiers may still be used by infrastructure or third-party services. See the Cookie policy for more detail.

Third-party links and embedded services

Factory Signal links to manufacturers, publishers, social platforms, videos, documents, and other third-party websites. Their privacy policies and terms apply after you leave Factory Signal.
